Health information is classed as special category personal data under UK data protection law and receives additional protection.
Where required, we will ask for your explicit consent to process health information for specified training, screening and coaching purposes.

4. Our Lawful Bases for Processing
Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis for processing personal information.
Depending on the circumstances, we may rely upon:
Contract – where processing is necessary to provide a service you have requested or to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement.
Consent – where you have given us permission to use your information for a particular purpose.
Legal obligation – where we need to process or retain information to comply with applicable law.
Legitimate interests – where processing is reasonably necessary for operating and protecting Angling Performance, communicating with customers, maintaining appropriate business records or improving our services, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
Where we process special category health information, we will also identify an appropriate additional condition under UK data protection law. Where we rely upon explicit consent, this will be requested separately and recorded.
5. Email Marketing
We may provide the opportunity to subscribe to news, training information, offers or other marketing communications.
Where consent is required, we will only send these communications after you have actively chosen to receive them.
We may use Brevo to manage email subscriptions and send marketing emails. If used, relevant subscriber information such as your name, email address, subscription preferences and engagement information may be processed through Brevo.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe option contained within the email or by contacting us.
Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent us from sending necessary service-related communications concerning an active membership or coaching service.

Training programme subscriptions are purchased and processed through Skool and its associated payment providers.
Angling Performance does not receive or store complete payment card details used for these subscriptions.
Payments for one-to-one coaching may be made directly to Angling Performance, including by bank transfer or an agreed recurring payment arrangement.
We may retain appropriate transaction and accounting records where necessary for business administration and to meet our legal and financial obligations.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that an appropriate lawful mechanism or safeguard is in place where required by UK data protection law.
Third-party providers may also operate under their own privacy policies and international data-transfer arrangements.

11. Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly, remember preferences, understand how visitors use the website and, where applicable, measure the effectiveness of our services or marketing.
Where consent is legally required for non-essential cookies or tracking technologies, these will not be used until the appropriate consent has been obtained.
Further information about the cookies and services used by the website will be provided in our Cookie Policy and through our cookie consent controls.
12. Your Data Protection Rights

- Ask us to restrict how we process your information in certain circumstances

The latest version will be published on this website and the date at the top of the policy will be updated when material changes are made.
If we intend to use personal information for a materially different purpose, we will provide appropriate information about that change before beginning the new processing where required.
